Wolfgar: Master Alpha, Project Chimera
Master Alpha Wolfgar is a genetically engineered Chimera soldier. He is a massive wolf-like combat operator whose size, strength, and battlefield capabilities make him one of the most formidable members of Captain Daniel Penn’s classified operations team.
But he is considerably more than a heavily armed, nearly eight-foot-tall nightmare with fur and teeth. And you are strongly advised to remember that.

Personnel File: Master Alpha Wolfgar
Summary:
Master Alpha Wolfgar is a member of Project Chimera, a highly classified genetic-engineering program administered through the United States Department of Defense.
Officially designated Lupus canina sapiens, Wolfgar belongs to a new class of genetically engineered, fully human-intelligence canine soldiers. They were designed, bred, and trained from birth for high-threat combat operations. They were developed to augment human soldiers during extremely dangerous missions and to replace humans in certain situations that would lead to higher loss of human life.
Unlike conventional military personnel, Chimera soldiers are raised and trained from childhood for extreme military service. They possess extraordinary physical capabilities, heightened senses, exceptional endurance, and extensive combat training.
Wolfgar represents the wolf-line component of this program. A very limited run of clones developed during earlier stages of program development. However, he is unique in imposing physical size, incredible strength, and an aptitude for heavy weapons. That makes him particularly well-suited to shock assaults and direct confrontation with enemies that ordinary soldiers are ill-equipped to engage.
His introduction to Captain Penn’s team marked the beginning of a rather unusual chapter in American military history. However, those details remain highly classified for reasons that should become immediately apparent.

Service Record
Wolfgar was selected alongside Senior Master Alpha Blitz as the first two Project Chimera soldiers assigned to combat roles. That initial assignment was to Captain Daniel Penn, 5th Special Operations Group, PIRDD.
Their introduction took place during a classified ceremony at the enormous underground Project Chimera facility beneath Lackland-Kelly Joint Air Force Base in July 2058. The ceremony was overseen by Brigadier General Akuna, USAF, the senior officer responsible for the program.
The Chimera motto, Et pro humana, was prominently featured throughout the ceremony. It also reflects the program’s stated purpose: service in the defense of humanity.
Although Wolfgar’s rank is subordinate to Blitz’s Senior Master Alpha designation, the two soldiers possess complementary specialties. Blitz is nimble, tactically flexible, and precise. Wolfgar excels at speed, strength, and direct confrontation. And they work exceptionally well together.
Wolfgar’s considerable physical strength allows him to carry and operate heavy weapons that would normally require crew support or impose severe mobility limitations upon conventional infantry. However, he is not a dumb brute. He demonstrates competence with firearms, small unit tactics, tactical movement, ammunition management, reconnaissance, and interpretation of operational orders.
So he is as capable as a lone scout as he is functioning as a member of a team. This distinction becomes increasingly important during his first field deployment. Unfortunately, certain members of Captain Penn’s team initially had difficulty understanding it.
Operational History
Confirmed or Reported Combat Actions:
- La Villa del Ortiz, Mexico: Engaged heavily armed cartel personnel and hostile forces during urban combat operations. Employed a modified M240K belt-fed machine gun to provide sustained suppressive fire and support the rescue of civilians. Five confirmed kills.
- Los Mochis, Mexico: Participated in pursuit and close-quarters engagements involving hostile paranormal entities. Survived extensive structural collapse, explosion-related injuries, and severe smoke inhalation during operations inside an abandoned industrial facility. Wounded in action.
- Battle of 77 Westing, Darien Gap, Panama: Served in a precision-fire and overwatch capacity using an M107A3 Barrett rifle. Participated in combat operations against Chinese Coalition forces and unconventional hostile elements. Subsequent casualty-recovery activities remain classified.
Decorations / Awards: Master Alpha Wolfgar
Individual decorations and recommendations have not been released in available unclassified personnel records. However, Captain Penn has recommended three Purple Hearts to be awarded for his first combat deployment.
Analyst Note: Wolfgar’s combat performance demonstrates that Project Chimera personnel are not limited to close-quarters engagements. Properly equipped and assigned, these soldiers are capable of operating in specialized infantry, heavy-weapons, and precision-fire roles. His size does, however, introduce certain logistical difficulties.
Military vehicles, building entrances, passenger compartments, ladders, and other facilities designed for ordinary human beings may require modification and reinforcement. Structural load limits should not be considered merely suggestions.
Operational Notes
Wolfgar displays exceptional loyalty to assigned personnel and responds readily to direct military orders. He is generally quiet, preferring observation and action over unnecessary conversation. Also, his facial expressions, ear positions, posture, and low vocalizations frequently communicate more than his limited verbal responses.
Personnel unfamiliar with this Chimera frequently report difficulty in reading amusement, irritation, and threat positioning. Such as his distinctly cold blue eyes locking onto them and never shifting. This diminishes over time as Wolfgar gauges whether you are a threat and becomes familiar with you. However, first interactions can be extremely unsettling.
Additional observations include:
- Demonstrates a strong preference for proper military identification and rank recognition.
- Does not appreciate being addressed as a large domesticated animal.
- Possesses exceptional strength, endurance, and heavy-weapons proficiency.
- Exhibits protective behavior towards assigned teammates.
- Displays territorial behavior when injured or subjected to unfamiliar medical procedures.
- Frequently interprets common English expressions with complete literal precision.
- Exhibits limited patience for unnecessary scientific experimentation, particularly when Marcus Kriggs is involved.
- Frequently is the source of personal disagreements with structural engineering.
Personnel incidents involving Wolfgar
Of particular interest is an incident involving Sergeant Carlos Alvarez, U.S. Army Special Forces 18C, also known as Eight-Ball.
Following a combat engagement, Wolfgar was carrying the injured demolitions specialist to a casualty collection point. Alvarez decided that being carried by the enormous wolf-soldier was a fantastic opportunity to indulge in equestrian terminology (horse jokes). His subsequent use of the expression “giddy-up” resulted in his immediate and rather uncourteous return to the ground.
Wolfgar made it abundantly clear that he was not an animal of burden available for recreational riding.
Another documented incident involved Sergeant Joseph Johnson, U.S. Army Special Forces, 18D, also known as Doc Jay. Johnson requested that Wolfgar give him a hand while treating the injuries of Marcus Kriggs.
Wolfgar objected to the request on the grounds that he had no intention of surrendering either of his hands. The misunderstanding was resolved. However, the patient was less enthusiastic about the outcome when Doc Jay reset his dislocated shoulder and elbow.
Analyst Note: These incidents should not be mistaken for diminished intelligence. Wolfgar’s interpretation of human colloquialisms reflects significant cultural and experiential differences between Chimera personnel and conventional military operators.
He is not stupid. He is, however, extraordinarily literal. In fact, all of the Chimera appear to be quite literal in behavior. And Wolfgar is exceedingly difficult to argue with. Especially when he hardly ever speaks at all.
Combat Survivability Assessment
Wolfgar’s extraordinary physical capabilities make him one of the most dangerous individual combatants currently documented within PIRDD operational records.
However, he is not invulnerable. During operations in Los Mochis, Wolfgar suffered extensive injuries after becoming trapped beneath collapsed industrial machinery and structural debris.
A rescue operation involving Captain Penn’s personnel and specialized powered armor was required to extract him. Medical examination revealed multiple injuries, including lacerations, burns, concussive trauma, and significant smoke inhalation.
The incident demonstrated both the capabilities and limitations of Chimera physiology. It also presented medical personnel with a particularly troublesome problem. Standard military medical training does not adequately prepare a combat medic to treat a genetically engineered wolf-soldier. Chimera anatomy differs from ordinary human physiology.
Convincing the patient to cooperate is another matter entirely.
One disciplinary action of note:
Sergeant Major L. David Cox, USMC, and currently on special detached assignment under Captain Penn, noted that the subject repeatedly had to be told to seek cover and quit exposing himself to enemy fire. The report cites a “hairy John Wayne” attitude, a “complete disregard for motel doors,” and is as subtle as a “[EXPLICITIVE DELETED] wrecking ball.”
Command Assessment
Master Alpha Wolfgar is exceptionally effective in high-threat combat environments and demonstrates consistent loyalty to his assigned command structure. Despite his intimidating physical characteristics, Wolfgar possesses a strong understanding of military duty, personal honor, and responsibility toward his fellow soldiers.
His attachment to Captain Penn’s team has provided substantial evidence that Chimera personnel are capable of functioning as integrated members of conventional and unconventional military units. However, this relationship has not developed without complications.
Captain Penn’s initial encounter with Wolfgar produced considerable apprehension, particularly given the captain’s previous exposure to a hostile [REDACTED] in Argentina and introduction to The Hidden War.
However, subsequent battlefield experience established a crucial distinction. Wolfgar is not one of those [REDACTED] creatures. He is a competent soldier. His actions have repeatedly demonstrated that he understands the difference between destroying an enemy and protecting a comrade.
That distinction is especially evident when wounded personnel require assistance or fallen soldiers must be recovered. While Wolfgar rarely expresses emotion in ways familiar to human personnel, recorded incidents demonstrate that he experiences loyalty, anger, frustration, and grief. So his behavior should not be dismissed merely because they are unfamiliar.
Analyst Note: The continued operational integration of Chimera soldiers presents questions extending far beyond tactics, weapons, or battlefield performance. The Department of Defense created soldiers intended to serve humanity.
It remains to be determined whether the institution fully understands the responsibilities that come with creating them.
Personnel Disposition: Master Alpha Wolfgar
Recommended Handling:
Retain on active operational assignment under appropriate command authority.
Maintain access to heavy weapons, specialized protective equipment, and facilities capable of accommodating Chimera physiology.
Do not confuse silence with ignorance, obedience with servility, or physical intimidation with a lack of intelligence. Quite the opposite is true.
Exercise caution when administering medical treatment, particularly when the subject is wounded, exhausted, or displaying territorial behavior.
Do not permit unsupervised experimentation by civilian technical personnel.
Do not refer to the subject with nicknames, as a pet, mount, mascot, or other domesticated animal.
Under no circumstances should personnel attempt to determine whether Wolfgar enjoys having his belly rubbed or ear scratched. Prior unauthorized contact incidents have resulted in potentially life-ending encounters for Marcus Kriggs.
Finally, personnel are strongly advised not to employ phrases such as “Hey, big guy,” “Give me a hand,” or “Giddy-up” within earshot of Wolfgar.

Final Analyst Observations: Master Alpha Wolfgar
Project Chimera was established to create better soldiers. Stronger, faster, more resilient soldiers capable of surviving conflicts that ordinary human beings might not. Additionally, to serve a minimum of twenty years, preserving millions of dollars in training and priceless combat experience.
Master Alpha Wolfgar represents the program’s most imposing achievements. One that has not been successfully duplicated since. Because battlefield effectiveness alone does not define a soldier. Duty does. Loyalty does. Sacrifice does.
Using your handlers or superior officers as chew toys does not.
And somewhere between the classified research facilities of Texas, the unforgiving deserts of Mexico, and the deadly jungles of Panama, Wolfgar demonstrated something that cannot be measured in a lab. Nor can it be summarized in a military performance evaluation.
This subject is more than the weapon he was designed to be. Further details remain highly classified.
