C2A Books Proudly Supports Wounded Warrior Project
Some stories are written to entertain. Others are inspired by the people who serve, sacrifice, and stand beside one another when everything falls apart. At C2A Books, I’ve always believed those two ideas could coexist. The Wounded Warrior Project is one such cause that fits my vision.

C2A Books Supports Wounded Warrior Project
So I’m pleased to announce that C2A Books has officially received approval from Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) to move forward with a community fundraising campaign supporting wounded veterans, their families, and caregivers.
This initiative has been part of my vision for the Countdown to Armageddon military science-fiction series since the beginning. So I wanted the books to do more than entertain readers. I also wanted them to contribute to something meaningful beyond the fictional world I’ve created. And to raise awareness of issues Veterans face. Now, that commitment has become a reality.
Why Supporting Wounded Warriors Matters to Me
For more than thirty years, I’ve served in emergency services, including working as a firefighter, fire chief, instructor, and federal disaster response as a communications specialist with FEMA. During those decades, I’ve worked alongside people who routinely placed the safety and well-being of others ahead of their own. I’ve witnessed the sacrifices made by individuals who answer the call when things are at their absolute worst.
Military personnel and first responders share something fundamental: an understanding that service sometimes requires putting yourself in danger for someone else. An uncommon virtue.
That sense of duty, loyalty, sacrifice, and responsibility is woven throughout Countdown to Armageddon.
Although the series takes place in a fictional near-future world filled with genetically engineered soldiers, covert military programs, unconventional warfare, and extraordinary threats, the human experiences behind these books are real. The bonds between those who serve together, the weight of command, the consequences of decisions, and the responsibility to bring your people home are central themes throughout the entire series.
Those aren’t simply convenient labels or storytelling devices. They are principles I’ve respected throughout my professional life.
Wounded Warrior Project:
An Officially Approved Fundraising Campaign
After communicating directly with Wounded Warrior Project’s Community Fundraising team, I’m pleased to confirm that our campaign has been reviewed and approved.
C2A Books is now authorized to participate as a WWP Proud Supporter, using the organization’s approved fundraising resources and branding.
The Wounded Warrior Project provides programs and services designed to help wounded veterans navigate the challenges of life after military service.
Its mission to honor and empower wounded warriors is one I believe deserves meaningful support. Also, it has been one of my goals early on. What if something entertaining could also support those who resemble what the stories are about? So I believe the two should go together; my efforts should benefit those who serve and sacrifice for those freedoms.
Through this campaign, I’m inviting readers, veterans, service members, military families, first responders, and anyone who shares that commitment to participate.
My initial fundraising goal is $1,000, and every contribution made through our official fundraising page goes directly to Wounded Warrior Project.
You Don’t Have to Buy a Book to Make a Difference

Amid the chaos of the Battle of La Villa del Ortiz, Master Alpha Wolfgar carries a wounded Sergeant Carlos “Eightball” Alvarez to safety. A moment from Countdown to Armageddon that embodies the courage, loyalty, sacrifice, and brotherhood of those who refuse to leave their own behind.
While this initiative grew out of my work on Countdown to Armageddon, participation is not dependent on purchasing any of my stuff. You do not need to buy a book, subscribe to my newsletter, or become a C2A supporter to contribute. However, Ann and I are honestly not opposed to it either.
Anyone who wishes to support the campaign can donate directly through the official Wounded Warrior Project fundraising page.
The purpose is straightforward: raise awareness, encourage participation, and generate support for wounded warriors and their families.

A Meaningful Milestone for Countdown to Armageddon
The timing of this announcement is particularly meaningful.
Book I, The Book of Daniel, was released on September 11, 2026, the 25th Anniversary of 9/11. It introduces readers to Daniel Penn, the Chimera, and a hidden conflict that threatens humanity’s future.
Book II: The Dogs of War is scheduled for release on November 11, 2026, Veterans Day, at 1100 hours. This continues the story of Daniel Penn, the Chimera, and introduces several new characters.
While the release dates carry their own significance, the opportunity to support wounded veterans through this fundraising initiative adds another layer of profound admiration to my journey. My goal is that readers will discover a series they enjoy while also learning about an organization doing important work for those who have served.
The books are fiction. But the sacrifices made by our veterans are not.
Join Us in Supporting Those Who Served
Whether you’ve read The Book of Daniel, are waiting for The Dogs of War, or have never heard of Countdown to Armageddon, you’re invited to participate. Because you don’t need to be a science-fiction fan to recognize the importance of supporting those who have sacrificed for others.
If you’re able to contribute, I encourage you to visit our official fundraising page. But if you cannot donate, sharing the campaign with others can help introduce more people to the cause. Every effort to raise awareness matters.
Thank you for helping C2A Books honor those who have served.
